Meet Our Executive Team
Scott Leavitt, CEO and Founding Partner
With 17 years experience in insurance and wellness, Scott brings strong leadership and a proven track record to the role of CEO of My Wellchoice+. Following two years with the MONY Group, he started his own insurance company, Scott Leavitt Insurance & Financial Services out of Boise, Idaho. Scott has been quoted widely on health care, insurance and wellness, including The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, INC Magazine, Fox Business, Benefit Selling, Employee Benefit Advisor, Health Plan Weekly and on National Public Radio.
Scott was the 2008-2009 President of NAHU and also serves on the NAHU Education Foundation. He chairs the Personnel & Nominations Committees. Scott has sat on the Idaho DOI CE committee and licensing committee. Scott is a former Region 7 vice president for NAHU. While NAHU Region 6 membership chair, he guided the region to the NAHU Cup. Prior to that, he was President of the Idaho AHU from 1999 to 2000 and the President of the Boise NAIFA in 2001 to 2002.
Scott has been honored with the Boise NAIFA "Ed Glennon Award of Excellence for Lifetime Achievement" in 2005 and the Idaho AHU "Dave Isern Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2000. He received the Landmark Award, the NAHU State Legislative Achievement Award, the "Triple Crown Award" and the NAHU Distinguished Service Award.
Joal Curtis, CFO and Partner
In addition to his role as CFO for My Wellchoice+, Joal is a licensed marriage and family counselor in Idaho and also has a background in training and education. Joal owns and operates the LiveFIT Counseling Center in Eagle Idaho. He has also worked as a Religious Educator and more recently as a Corporate Trainer and Business Development Manager for Hewlett-Packard Company.
Joal is the president of the Keene Curtis Charitable Foundation and was featured in the Idaho Business Review, as a Heath Care Hero award nominee. Joal is a graduate and current affiliate faculty member of Idaho State University where he helped develop the ISU Boise campus counseling center.
Joal has a variety of career experience ranging from operations and investor accounting to sales and business development. His business experience ranges from a small business start-up to insurance sales to the large global enterprise. He is also a co-founder of eFITclub, an online health and wellness community for individuals and families.
John Curtis, CMO and Partner
As CMO of My Wellchoice+, John brings more than 20 years experience in marketing, branding, communications, executive visibility, service development, and messaging. His has spent the majority of his career focused on marketing and communicating services targeted at small and medium businesses.
Prior to joining My Wellchoice+, he served as HP's director of executive communications and messaging, where he was responsible for the development and execution of HP's C-level executive visibility program working closely with CEO's Carly Fiorina and Mark Hurd. He developed HP's company-wide positioning and messaging, and worked closely with the brand team on HP's brand character and voice.
In 2003, he was named director of marketing for Print, Inc., a leading managed print services start-up. John established the company's entire marketing, branding, public relations and communications functions and helped increase the company's sales from $20 million to nearly $50 million in less than two years. Previously, Curtis worked for Ketchum Public Relations and Coltrin & Associates in New York City with clients Philips Lighting, Banker's Trust, GTE and American Express, among others. John is also a co-founder of eFITclub, an online health and wellness community for individuals and families.
